Hip Dinner Spots in London

Hip Dinner Spots in London

There is no shortage of great hip, foodie spots to try in London. If you're like me, choosing where to go is the hardest part so I tend to choose places that friends have recommended. Here is a list of some of my favorite hip spots in London.

  • Pollen Street Social. So good, very popular. Michelin-star. Great looking crowd, delicious food from local suppliers and inspired cocktails. (Mayfair)
  • Little Social. Little sister of the Pollen Street Social. French-inspired British coziness. (Mayfair)
  • Duck & Waffle. Well-known for great eats and one of the very best views of London. While it is open 24 hours a day, I'd recommend a rezzie. (City)
  • DishoomTraditional Indian (Bombay) with creative twists. Noisy in a good way. Multiple locations around London; I prefer the spots in Shoreditch and Mayfair.
  • Sexy Fish.  Japanese-inspired. And while fish is on the menu, it's not limited to that! I LOVED the crispy duck and watermelon salad.  Put on your coolest outfit to go here. I highly recommend making a rezzie in advance; it's very hard to get into but so worth it. (City)
  • Barrafina. Super popular Spanish tapas. Prepare for a queue and try to go early. (Soho & Covent Garden)
  • Tramshed.  I’d go for a drink and a snack. (The starters are better than entrees, in my opinion.) This hip spot is famous for its art - the Damien Hirst cow in blue water is displayed there. Cool space. (Shoreditch)
  • Bo Drake. East Asia + slow-cooked barbeque may sound like a curious combination but it's wonderful. Trust me. Order the kimbab and the miso-glazed baby back ribs and  (Soho)
  • Circus. Pan-Asian. My friends from other large cities like Dubai, Paris and Hong Kong love this beautiful spot! House rules include being well-dressed, parties of 6 or more being a mix of ladies and gents, and no kids. (City)
  • Yauatcha. It's a contemporary dim-sum tea house. Good dumplings and small Asian plates to share. Excellent sake! (Soho)
  • Mr. Chow first opened in this spot in 1968. Always a treat and the service is terrific. Great for a special occasion! (Knightsbridge)
