The Hoxton Hotel in Paris

Just scroll down the SHOP + STAY page of this blog for Europe and the UK and you’ll see my love for Hoxton Hotels. It’s undeniable. After staying at both locations in London many times as well as the property in Amsterdam, I had to stay at the Hoxton Paris (2nd arrondissement) when I took my nephew on a recent visit.

Like all the others, the hotel oozes a cool, hip, relaxed vibe. The lobby is broken up into different areas to suit any mood a guest may be in. Like the other properties, it has its fair share of comfy chairs and mid-century sofas in a spattering of colors that should not go together but somehow do. The lobby restaurant is complemented by a bar adorned in rich velvets, mismatched tables and creative cocktails mixed by a mustached bartender. At night, the lobby area becomes a busy bar. We enjoyed a glass of bubbly before dinner each night amongst well-dressed artists, businesswomen, groups of local friends and a few tall models.

What sets this property apart from the rest is the building it occupies. The lobby, flanked by a small coffee bar and a chic spiral staircase, opens up to a beautiful courtyard with white tables and chairs for outdoor breakfast or lunch. Enjoying a slightly-too-pricey but delicious latte and eggs underneath a bright blue Paris sky, even on a chilly morning, is divine. Service can be slow but don’t let it get it you. It’s a perfect reminder to take some time to just sit back and relax a bit.

The room was spacious and perfectly comfortable with the retro decor I’ve come to expect and appreciate from the Hoxton properties. I would recommend asking to not have an accessible bathroom if you don’t need one. The bathroom in our room was huge but the water went everywhere.

All in all, a wonderful stay at my favorite hotel group’s Paris property.
